CHERYL LYNNE WEBER
From The Father’s Heart To My Pen
“Writing is praying with a keyboard”
Mark Batterson, The Circlemaker
Cheryl Lynne Weber grew up in beautiful Lancaster County, PA and has always enjoyed writing stories. As a young adult seeking God’s purpose for her life, she felt led to take a correspondence course in writing from Christian Writers Institute. As this was long before the internet, she did all her assignments on an electric typewriter and sent them off via “snail mail.”
During the years that followed, she wrote short stories, and several play scripts for fundraisers and church events. In 1998, she followed God’s leading into missionary work and completed her first training school with Youth With A Mission (YWAM), one of the world’s largest, most diverse missionary training organizations. Since then, she has ministered in more than a dozen different nations including the U.S., serving on staff with Arts With A Mission at YWAM’s Twin Oaks Ranch near Tyler, Texas and YWAM’s School of Writing, where she helped to mentor budding authors of all ages. She also served as a team journalist for a five-week medical outreach team to Papua New Guinea with YWAM’S Mercy Ships.
Although God has called Cheryl to be a storyteller, she also writes an eclectic mix of fiction, devotionals, magazine articles, and occasional humor pieces. Her writing encourages, admonishes, teaches, and just plain entertains.
Her other interests include singing sacred classical music with local chorales, reading voraciously, taking walks in the woods, and coloring pages. She loves to laugh–most of her favorite movies are comedies–and she also enjoys animals (especially cats, but don’t hold that against her).
Cheryl has also been a faithful member of the Lancaster Christian Writers (LCW) since 2010 and took over its leadership in December 2022. If you’re interested in LCW, you can visit their site by clicking on the button below:
